    Hello, I've been trying to deactivate Superfish as discussed in multiple other threads and all over the internet, but i can't seem to make it happen. Ideally, I was going to deactivate Superfish and then enqueue Superclick, but nothing I do deactivates superfish.

    I've used this snippet.

    //* Disable the superfish script
    add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'sp_disable_superfish' );
    function sp_disable_superfish() {
    	wp_deregister_script( 'superfish' );
    	wp_deregister_script( 'superfish-args' );
    }

    I've done everything Victor mentions here.

    I have done this on a default Genesis sample theme with no plugins active or even installed so I dont know where the conflict lies. I've tried one source where a guy tells folks to simply replace the entire *contents* of superfish.min.js and superfish.arg.min.js with the superclick contents -- This DOES work, but of course, that would be overwritten in an upgrade, and seems janky. Certainly there's a more elegant way to do this using functions.

    Is there another way to get the drop-down to appear on click instead of all these things? my client is really adamant that the top-level not go anywhere, so I could make it a dummy link, but I feel from a UI standpoint, that's not a good idea. If they hover and a dropdown appears, people expect a click to do something. So it was decided that clicking top level should make the submenu appear if it doesn't actually go anywhere.

    Is there anyone who can help me resolve this? I feel like I'm chasing my tail at this point. 🙂 Thank you!

    Did you remove the drop-down-menu from the accessibility support? I suggest using apply_filters( 'genesis_superfish_enabled', false ); after you remove the drop down menu support instead of the snippet you used.
