    I just installed the Sixteen Nine template and I can't find a way to get rid of the Powered by Genesis in the left sidebar. Any help would be appreciated.

    Add this CSS code at the end of your child themes style.css file:

    .site-footer {
    display: none;
    }

    On a related note, I can't seem to find a footer for the theme?

    you can edit the link from the functions.php or you can install the simple edits plugin and change the footer content from there
