    HI

My blog runs on Genesis framework, sample theme. I made some modifications to the codes with the help of firebug, pasting it onto 'edit CSS' page. It now looks the way I like it. However it has become slow. I created a ticket to studiopress about this. I am advised by them that it is not the content that is slowing down.

I would be grateful for suggestions on how to resolve this issue.

    Thanks in advance
    Anupama

I would say check with your hosting provider I've never encountered slowness my CSS unless you have too many open images.

We recommend using Firebug to view source codes http://getfirebug.com/

    Thank you for your response.
I did contact bluehost. They said the site needs to be optimized. I do not know how to tackle that.

    Hi,
    GT metrix said this:

    timeline report:
    http://gtmetrix.com/reports/easybitesonline.com/DLaTSbGn#report-timeline
    there are some issues.

    - 1.97 seconds spent crunching data on the server before first byte can
be sent to a visiting browser.

    - 168 separate requests for assets

    - 1.59 MB in total data

since I can only manage basic HTML and CSS, I am not sure how to go about addressing this.

    thanks

It clearly points to their server

Most hosting companies will never say there's a problem on their end. Your site look simple I don't see how anything you've added could slow it down at this point.
