    Hello folks,

I just deactivated a plugin on my site that wasn't being used. Instantly got this:
Warning: "continue" targeting switch is equivalent to "break". Did you mean to use "continue 2"? in /var/sites/b/bfpeople.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/essential-grid/includes/item-skin.class.php on line 1041

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /var/sites/b/bfpeople.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/essential-grid/includes/item-skin.class.php:1041) in /var/sites/b/bfpeople.com/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 5946

The plugin I deactivated was not Essential Grid. I reactivated it and nothing changed. This warning also now shows at the top of every page on my site - on desktop and mobile.

Any suggestions as to how I fix this? I was planning to do more housekeeping - removing some plugins but now quite wary.

    Thanks in advance,
    John

Whatever plugin you were using caused a conflict with Essential Grid. Deactivate that plugin.

    Meaning... deactivate Essential Grid.

Good practice, put your site on a cloned/staging area to perform your tests and not on a Live environment. This way if you have issues like you have now, they will be on the staging and not the Live site.

Many thanks Anita. All fixed although I've now lost my grids but I'll work around that.

Do you have a link to a resource on how to implement the cloned/staging area you suggest. Seems a great idea, but I don't know where to start.

    Thanks again,
    John

It depends on your hosting provider. I'm on SiteGround and it actually has a one push button that will automatically clone it to a staging. Check your hosting account.

I think that's unlikely, but thanks for the suggestion, Anita.

One of the WordPress core contributors mentioned WP Staging to me over Twitter. Take a look. It might be worth you investing in.
