Hi I am trying to add recent posts to a new blog (showcase pro theme) Directly underneath the hero images I want to displace one blog post on top of one another.

And each blog post to show a large left aligned image. And then the title, info and excerpt to the right of that image. similarly to what's show in this image:
    https://stevemayall.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Screen-Shot-2017-03-07-at-9.42.28-am.png

I'm using the Genesis featured post widget

The problem is when i add the post it places the whole post vertically with the image first then underneath that the title, then info, then the excerpt underneath that. which is not what i want.

There seems to be little i can do to set this in the widget.

Does anyone know how i can fix this using this widget, by using another etc???

Not sure if you ever solved this, but I uncovered a bug with ShowCase Pro and Genesis Featured Page/Post widgets in the footer. The developer gave me this solution:

There is a CSS bug that is causing the layout issue on the home page. If you search for this line in the CSS:

    .front-page .featured-content.widget .entry

    Change that to this:

    .front-page .featured-content.widget > .entry

Notice the ">" which targets direct descendants of the .featured-content.widget vs anything underneath it.

Just in case it helps you.
