Hello. I was just wondering if it is possible to add post meta to the Featured Posts widget (this blog is actually using Foodie Pro but basically same deal).

I have the Featured Posts widget showing post excerpts on the homepage all works fine but I would love to be able to add the post meta below the Read More link. I know this can be done by not using the widget and just setting up post excerpts on the homepage, but I want to use the widgetized homepage template. Is this at all possible? I know about using shortcodes etc. there's just no area to add them on the Featured Post widget outside of below the post title. Thanks for the look!

There's no setting for that in the widget so you can't do it without:

    1. Copying over the featured post widget to your child theme and modifying the code.

    Or

Find a extended version of the widget which includes the options you want in a plugin.

Thanks for your time Brad. I did find this plugin that works pretty well:

    Ultimate Posts Widget

I just always prefer to use something customized to Genesis so thought I would check here first, appreciate your time and all that you do!

Here's another extended version of the genesis featured post widget which enables you to change the position of the post info. You can add this code to your child theme rather than install another plugin.
