    We used to have the Forex Quotes plugin in a sidebar on our website but since switching to News Pro the formatting does not work. Our previous theme was Eleven 40.

    Is there some way to use the Enhanced Text widget or something else to get this working?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Add the following to your theme's functions.php:

    //* enable shortcodes in widget area
add_filter('widget_text', 'do_shortcode');

    Thanks for the reply Victor.

    Unfortunately the plugin - Forex Quotes - is still not working correctly. While the data is visible, the formatting of the table it feeds into is almost non-existent - just lines of figures.

    My suspicion is that the table generated by the plugin is full of html 4 code that the News Pro theme ignores. The plugin still formats nicely in Eleven 40 but I don't want to go back to that just for one plug-in. Would be great if I could exclude html 5 from that widget.
