    Hi there,
    I need help with SEO.
I am almost done with this site for my father: http://stamfordlandscaping.com/wordpress/

I had made (a very long time ago!) a full Flash site for this business and I am completely redoing it with the Executive Pro theme so it's free of flash and with a main goal of good search engine ranking for "tree care"

Is it a good idea to add meta data everywhere I can towards this end? For example: using keywords in the alt text for every tree care related image, adding title, description, and keywords to all pages and post...

Is it good or bad to add meta data to posts that are solely used for the homepage slider or other gallery slideshows?

I've been reading online about using noindex and nofollow but am still confused... When I am editing a post or page there is a section to add custom SEO and I can check off "Apply noindex to this post/page"... I'm not sure when to do this.

    Thank you very much!

Ranking well for "tree care"? Get real. Add a city, state, county to that and you have a chance.

Sounds like you need SEO 101:

Thanks for the link, but I didn't appreciate your attitude.

You are right, I should have specified in my forum post that it will be tree care in Fairfield County, CT. However, my questions have to do with which posts, pages, and images should have meta data. I'm trying to figure out whether there is a negative effect if I add meta data to certain elements of the site specifically in wordpress and specifically with the Genesis framework running the Executive Pro theme.

yoast offers an seo plugin for local business. I would definitely get your address on your site. Get a google map put on your site with your business address. List your website on local listings. Do some youtube videos on taking care of Japanese gardens. Research what websites come up when you search your area for tree care, garden care. Do local workshops on Gardening. That way your getting the older crown that may not be online. give them cards with your web address so they give it to someone who may be online. Carry pushpins and business cards when ever you go into any business. use the free cork boards when available.

    Yoast link is- https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/local-seo/

    Good luck
