I'd like recommendations on events registration plugins for an non-profit association client.

    The plugin should:

-be easy to administer, for non-technical people
    - create events
    - accept event registration
    - support different type of event registration (early bird, seniors, etc)
    - accept payments (paypal)
    - send automated email reminders to event attendees.

    The "wp-events" plugin looks promising.

    Any thoughts, recommendations appreciated. Thanks.

Does it have to be integrated specifically with WordPress? You can easily do this with Eventbrite. It's the only thing I use. You can embed your events right on your WP site and managing all of the registration, etc., through Eventbrite.

Oh, and the other reason why I like Eventbrite, is that I don't have to use an SSL certificate directly on my site to gather pertinent information about the attendees. It's all handled through Eventbrite.

Yes. If you haven't used it before, send me an email. I can tell how I use with WP.

Eventbrite is not acceptable by client.

Does anyone recommend an event (seminar) registration plugin besides Espresso that will 'hook' into PayPal for payment?

Has anyone ever used this: http://tinyurl.com/qy9pm25

Help. I really need need a suggestion from someone who has done a registration site before.

    Thanks.

I just read about a new one via wptavern.com called OpenTickets... maybe that might fit your needs? I'm guessing since it's based on WooCommerce that Paypal integration is available.

Thanks, Summer. That looks like a nice system but I think I'll let it "age" a bit before I throw it on a client site.

I put in this free plugin to see how it might work and while it is not the most beautiful interface I've seen, it's serviceable and the price (donation) is right.

I don't like buying plugins from the Theme Forest type vendors I never heard of because if they don't work or I don't like them... it can be a PITA to get a refund. (Note to all plugin vendors... try to have a demo or at least a ton of screenshots so your customer (i.e. me!) can be 'sold' on the product by "seeing" it.)
