I want to add a small search box to the right of the navigation in Parallax Pro. I have tried a number of different suggestions offered here but nothing is working. Does anyone have any suggestions of options that have worked recently? Thanks! Sharon

    Sharon,
There was a feature in Genesis 1 that automatically included an option for that, but it was removed in Genesis 2.

There is a workaround here if you're willing to do some code editing. It offers either a search box or current date. You'll want to uncomment the search box part, just as it says in the comments.

I just tested it, and it worked fine. You may need to style the search box to taste, of course.

    Enjoy,
    Dave

It doesn't seem to work with Parallax Pro. Parallax Pro uses the secondary menu and I changed to that but it is still not appearing (not even in the code.) Not sure what to do.

Hi - I got it to work by using a plugin. Not ideal but it works 🙂

    Sharon,
Sorry to hear that. I don't have Parallax Pro,

On my theme it works on either the primary or secondary. It may be worth pointing out that the Parallax Pro demo has the Primary at the top, and the Secondary way down at the bottom. Of course you may have swapped them. Beyond that thought, and double-checking exactly what you un-commented, I'm afraid that's it for me without being inside the site.

Last random idea... the way various Studiopress themes are set up, sometimes they initiate the framework in different ways and in different orders. You could try the code at the end of functions.php, for instance, or change the priority number, the "10" in the call.

    Good luck,
    Dave

    Victor,

Would you mind sharing the code with me as well. I've been searching for the code for a while now and have been coming up empty handed.

    Thanks,
    Hamlet
