I am using the Crystal Theme and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to insert scrolling text (I have been trying to use the "wp cycle" plugin, but open to another suggestion) between the home-top and home-middle section. I don't think there is a hook I can use, but I can be mistaken.

When you say scrolling text and you give a bit more details thanks.

To speed up the process please post the link to the website in question.

You can use HTML Marquee in a text widget or even hook it in directly using a custom function.

Genesis Simple Hooks is another option which can be used for scrolling text.

    Here's some examples http://wpsites.net/web-design/scrolling-text-images-html-effects/

Which hook position did you want the scrolling to text display?

    You can:

    1. hook in the HTML Marquee directly
    2. Create a new widget
    3. Use Genesis Simple Hooks

I would like to put the scrolling text, such as the HTML Marquee example or the "WP cycle text announcement" plugin, between the top scrolling images and the middle row of images. I'm not sure which simple hook would work for that section.

Whoops. After i published that reply, it didn't display so not sure what happened.

I would try the HTML in different hook positions using the Simple Hooks plugin or create a new widget in that hook position. Otherwise you can hook HTML directly using a custom function.

    Please clarify:

top scrolling images and the middle row of images

Maybe take a screenshot and point an arrow to the position would be best.

By scrolling do you mean the slider?

Do you want the HTML to display site wide or only on the front page of your site?

You could simply paste the HTML into a text widget in the home middle widget area.
