I'm creating a 1px dotted border between the content area and sidebar on post pages like here at http://wpbryan.com/development/plancurtail/white-paper/history-and-status-of-the-battery-electric-vehicle-bev/

The border goes top to bottom starting at the header and ending at the footer. I wish to have the top of the border start not at the header but at the top of first widget or htag so there is a small gap of space before the header. I would like the bottom of the border stop right before the footer with a small gap before the footer. You can see an example in this jpg.

On these category pages, http://wpbryan.com/development/plancurtail/category/cars/ I would like the border to do the same thing. Just show a little gap before the header and footer. I was trying a pseudo-class but I wasn't having much luck.

    Any help is appreciated

    Thanks
    Bryan

    Hi Bryan,

how about using margin-top in .sidebar (plus adjusting margin-top or padding in .sidebar .widget) and .lwm_back_to_home_block?
