    Thanks in advance, I'm thinking this is probably an easy fix and I'm missing something. My pictures are too large most of the time in my blog posts. However, when I try to use the "medium" size they are too small (I changed the settings in wordpress to a specific size but that didn't change the size on the media edit within posts). I've tried "custom" size within a post and that didn't do anything. I've also tried changing the actual size of the photo prior to uploading to wordpress.

    Here's an example, I would want to see most of the photo on the screen without having to scroll down.

    You can regenerate your image sizes using a plugin. http://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

    The images will be sized according to your native Media Settings and custom image sizes in your functions file.

    Example:

    add_image_size( 'featured', 100, 100, TRUE );

    Thanks Brad, is the plug-in the only way to accomplish this?
