ParticipantWow guys,
I'm afraid I have egg on my face.
I was moving right along using the AcademyPro theme for my (soon to be) Golf Learning Courses [meazlesgolf.com]
I was trying to "not" display the sidebar on the home page but I do want it on the other pages.
Somehow (I don't remember where I was at) I lost the Hero Button & Text on the home page and I failed to save my code before making the change which (honestly) I haven't been forgetting.
I decided to:
1. Uninstall and remove both the Genesis & AcademyPro Themes from my WP-Site and reinstall them both. The site still looked the same with the bad changes. Then I...
2. Created an entirely new WordPRess site in a folder called "test" and install both the Genesis & AcademyPro Themes there. I viewed the site and it look just like the demo (great I thought.
So, I copied the "FOLDERS" (via cPanel) of Genesis & AcademyPro from the test WPSite and replace the same folders on the live site with the good ones from the test-folder site.
Alas, the site still looks the same as before without the Hero Button.
Now, I am out of options short of changing to another theme which I would really hate to do as I am head over heels in love with the Academy Theme as I already have LearnDash install and working on my Golf Learning Courses (as in lessons).
You guys have any ideas what I might try next?
Thank you.
FTR - I have WP 4.9.1 and construct my site on a Win10 platform. Plus I could not find a search button on this forum as I am sure, even though I have egg on my face for not backing up before making changes, that I may not be alone here. 🙁

ModeratorOther than changes you make directly to style.css and functions.php, all code in WordPress is stored in the database. The two files I mentioned are in the theme folder. Assuming you added the code to widgets, the only way to get rid of that code is by deleting the widget(s) from the Appearance/Widgets page. This is why updating the theme and framework has no effect on the display. Your code is in the database. If it's not in widgets, it's in whatever tool you are using to store your code. If you are talking about CSS, did you check the WordPress customizer?

Have you requested your free website audit yet?January 14, 2018 at 11:18 pm #215398MT1895
ParticipantThank you very, very much Victor for taking the time to address my issue!
As it turns out, I must have some text either in the title of the Hero Button or in the paragraph. I rather have the text on the button only but I can live with it or design around it.
I'm back in business and again I thank you!!!!
