    Hello!

    I'm trying to remove this white space - it shows up when the screen is full size on a computer, or it's extra white space under the menu when viewed smaller. Have tried a number of tweaks - any ideas?

    I'm also trying to make it so the background is on the main page only, and white on the rest - I managed to make the landing page structured like the rest of the site, so that's what the semi-empty (except for the white bar) space to the right is (I removed the genesis loop on the landing page and made the sidebar show up) - since I didn't have a home page or front page file - is this possible?

    Hi,
    Your left sidebar is actually the header in this theme. So, simply remove the white background color from it, like this:

    .site-header {
        background-color: transparent;
    }

    If you only want the white background removed from the home page header, adjust the CSS like this:

    .home .site-header {
        background-color: transparent;
    }

    (Be sure there's a space between .home and .site-header)

    I'm not sure how you got the custom background on the site. I would adjust the CSS to include ".home" in front of the background declaration. That would force the image to appear only on the home page.
