I'd like to remove the site description (text) on my site between my menu bar and the content. In that space, I'd like to add an image.

On Studio Presses' tutorials, I found some PHP code for removing the site description. When I tried to add it to my functions.php file, my whole site crashed, and I had to restore the functions.php file through my server's FTP.

I can edit CSS pretty well, but know very little about PHP.

Your theme has already re-positioned the tagline so you can try something like this solution http://wpsites.net/web-design/eleven40-pro-replace-site-description-tagline-with-widget/

Let me know how you go.

Great! I'll try this second method tonight. The first link you sent me worked perfectly for removing the site description. It also added a widget, but the widget doesn't work.

    Thanks for your help!

It works because i added some text and took a screenshot to test it which you can see on the post.

The code you used from StudioPress also works as it has been tested.

You need to copy code correctly and paste it in the correct file and correct position in the file.

You were right! When I tried a second time, the image did come up. Not sure what I did when I tried first-maybe tried to put an image in that was too big?

    Thanks for all your efforts!
