    Hi there,

    Does anyone know how to remove the word "private" from a private post or page. I want to set up a page that only certain people can see, but I can't figure out how to remove the word "private" from the top of this page. Thanks in advance!

    There's a filter for that which you'll find on the Codex.

    I did publish a post with the code but couldn't find it.

    Try putting this in your wordpress child functions.php theme:

    <?php

    function remove_private_prefix($title) {
    $title = str_replace( 'Private:', '', $title);
    return $title;
    }
    add_filter('the_title','remove_private_prefix');

    And see if that works.

    Just tried this and now my website is down...I am getting:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home/content/29/11519829/html/wp-content/themes/metric/functions.php on line 58

    How do I get my site back up!????

    Use FTP to find the file and remove the code you added.

    Its actually a password protected post

    How do I use FTP like that? Is it in GoDaddy?
