    Remove jQuery from Genesis Themes and instead use your own Javascript which will be very small and light weight.

    Genesis doesn't load jQuery, WordPress does. It's included as part of WordPress Core. Many WordPress plugins, WordPress itself, and the Genesis Framework all depend on jQuery being loaded. It's a bad idea to completely unload jQuery. If you do, site elements that depend on it will cease to function.
