    I'm having two issues pertaining to the featured posts widget on the site http://staging.naifacalifornia.org.

    1. I want to show a Read More link but I do not want to show the ellipsis or any other content. I've looked for a function to do this but can't seem to find one that works.

    2. The posts have a white background. I've gone through every single element trying to either remove the background or adding a different color and nothing is working. I was thinking it was in the wrap or something but it's not there either.

    I'd appreciate some help.

    Thanks

    Solved the background color problem. Had a weird browser issue and after re-opening site I was able to add the code I expected to work, and it did.

    Could still use help with the ellipsis. I tried this but it didn't work:

    function alter_content_limit($args){
       if(stripos($args, "…") === 0){
           return "";
       }
       else{
           return $args;
       }
       }
       add_filter("get_the_content_more_link", "alter_content_limit");
