    Hi There,

    I would like to reduce the number of widgets I have in my footer from 3 to 2. Before I much it up by playing with code, might someone be able to tell me where and how to do this? Should I just adjust my style.css file or do I need to alter the .php as well?

    Hi Jen. You'd need to alter a line of code in functions.php and then adjust the CSS to change the widths and other widget area styling.

    Look for this in functions.php and change 3 to 2:

    //* Add support for 3-column footer widgets
add_theme_support( 'genesis-footer-widgets', 3 );

    Hi Pixel Frau,

    So I got anxious and started fiddling with the side. Found this and its down to 2 footer widgets, however they are still in the same position? How to I make them full width other than updating the css to have them be 510 pixels instead of 340px.

    That's right, you'd need to adjust the width in the CSS.

    If you did that, but you're not seeing the changes on your website, check if your web host is using caching (or if you're using a caching plugin). You should see your changes after you flush the cache.
