    Hey There!

    I followed the tutorials for displaying the "more" link without a tag. It works. Yay!

    However, I'd like the link to show underneath the excerpt like in the Pretty Pictures Demo. I realize that this was manually done with the more tag, but is there a way to do this without a tag? What code would I enter to have it display on the next line?

    Thanks so much for your help.

    ... BTW, this is the code I used in functions:

    // Puts link in excerpts more tag
    function new_excerpt_more($more) {
    global $post;
    return '<a class="moretag" href="'. get_permalink($post->ID) . '"> Read More...</a>';
    }
    add_filter('excerpt_more', 'new_excerpt_more');

    function child_theme_setup() {
    // override parent theme's 'more' text for excerpts
    remove_filter( 'excerpt_more', 'pictures_auto_excerpt_more' );
    remove_filter( 'get_the_excerpt', 'pictures_custom_excerpt_more' );
    }
    add_action( 'after_setup_theme', 'child_theme_setup' );

    Try adding a new class named .moretag and set the display to block. It should place the link onto a new line.

    I pasted the code below, just not sure how it will look when I hit reply to your post.
    <code>
    .moretag {

        display: block;

    }
    </code>

    Thanks, Rick!

    I'm not a coding wiz... I'm more like cheese whiz. 🙂

    Just to clarify, should that code go in the functions or css style sheet?

    Thanks,

    Kimberly
