Can anyone tell me if there are any plans to update the "Genesis Slider" Plugin?

The reason I ask because the premium version of the Wordfence Security Plugin (Wordfence.com) has identified the Genesis Slider as a potential problem.

The developers at Wordfence Security recently implemented a new "security scan" where the scan identifies Plugins that had not received any updates in two years or more.

The Wordfence developers explain their rationale for the scan as follows

"This scan result means that a plugin has not been updated in 2 years or more. This can be a problem since it means the plugin author has not made any changes for a long period. Sometimes that means it won't be fully compatible with newer WordPress versions, reported bugs may not be fixed, and new security issues might not be addressed."

So they are not saying that the Genesis Slider plugin has a particular problem, just that it has a higher probability of a problem because of the long period of not being updated.

So again I ask is there any plans for an update to the Genesis Plugin.

This is a question you should probably ask of Studio Press directly. Questions on this forum are answered by community volunteers. We don't have any insight into the inner workings of Studio Press. My personal opinion is that I suspect that the slider will not be updated because it's underlying technology is the flex-slider. The flex-slider was at one time free to use, but it was purchased by WooCommerce and is now marketed as the WooSlider. Besides, just because a plugin hasn't been updated in a while doesn't mean that it has vulnerabilities or shouldn't be used any longer. As long as it's working I wouldn't worry about it.
