Hello, I am trying to install a javascript "plugin" (not a WordPress plugin) on my site, but the instructions call for adding a couple lines of code to the header.php file, which works for most WordPress themes, but not for Genesis child themes as far as I know. Specifically, I need to add a line following where the css file is linked to in most wordpress themes. I am using Prose and am hoping for your suggestions. Thank you.

Try adding it in the Header and Footer Scripts at Genesis > Theme Settings > Header Scripts

Or us the scripts box on every page of Genesis 2.0 Edit Screens

Or you can hook it in using wp_enqueue_script
