    The Plugin "Genesis Simple Sidebars" appears to be abandoned (updated April 13, 2017, tested to WP 4.7.13).

    Can someone tell me if this is a potential issue or if it should be deactivated?

    Representatives from StudioPress do not visit the forum that often. This is a question only they can answer. You should probably send the question to them on their contact page since it is a StudioPress plugin.
