    Hello everyone,

    I'm currently using the eleven40 theme and I'm experiencing the occasional problem with a gap between bullet points. It seems random as some posts are fine while others create a gap that I cannot remove. Everything looks fine in the text editor, but the gap still exists. I posted a link below for one of the problem posts.

    Thanks!

    It looks like some HTML has been added to your unordered list. This can sometimes happen when some content is pasted in the WP editor from something like Word. How comfortable are you with HTML as the easiest fix would be to go into the editor and remove the HTML?

    Thanks for responding James. I not sure how comfortable I am or not to be honest. I know some HTML. I checked in the text editor and didn't see anything. What is it that you see I need to do?

    Hi, sorry for the delay in my reply. I can see on the page that you have linked to, in the first list there is a div with the id of _ap_wp_post_top_26164 in-between your list items. If you go into the editor, you should be able to see the div and remove it.

    Hi James. I had looked in the text editor previously for discrepancies and did not find anything. I still don't see the div you are referring to. This is what the list looks like to me in text editor:

    <ul>
    	<li>Water resistance</li>
    	<li>Good adhesion</li>
    	<li>Concrete dust proof</li>
    	<li>Excellent efflorescence and alkali resistance</li>
    	<li>Non yellowing</li>
    	<li>Chemical resistance</li>
    	<li>No hot-tire pick up</li>
    	<li>Excellent over bare or stained/dyed concrete</li>
    	<li>Higher abrasion resistance</li>
    	<li>Fast dry time</li>
    	<li>Easy to clean</li>
    	<li>Tintable to many colors</li>
    	<li>Available in a clear matte or gloss finish</li>
    </ul>

    Am I on the right track here or am I missing something completely? Thanks again for your help.

    Thats odd, If you view source on your list item you will see the div, there is also a p tag underneath it. Was that content typed into the editor or was it pasted from somewhere else? If it was pasted from somewhere else, I have known the text editor to behave unexpectedly, adding in funny mark-up.

    James, you hit the nail on the head earlier when you said it sometimes happens when the list is pasted in from Word. I believe that is what I did with this one as well as the other random lists that have the same problem.

    Is there a way to correct it? Can I go back and delete the list then enter it manually or use notepad to fix the gap?

    Great at least we know the cause now. Yes I would suggest re-typing your lists, I beleive notepad will only paste in plain text but typing them into the text editor will ensure that all the required HTML is generated. Maybe just try one list and see if that works before re-doing all of them.

    Thanks for sticking with me on this minor problem James. I just deleted the entire list and then typed it in manually. It moved the gap down one line but it did not go away. I then tried deleting the image and resubmitted it as well since it affects the way the list looks in the visual editor. No luck.

    Suggestions?

    To be honest without diving in myself I am not too sure, I can only think that something may have been left behind from what was pasted in from word in the HTML. It is not ideal, but as a quick fix you could add the following to your css.

    #content ul p {
        margin: 0px;
    }

    Again this is not ideal as it will not remove the hidden HTML, it will however remove the gap so nothing will be visible.

    Sorry my mistake, try this instead.

    .entry-content ul p {
        margin: 0px !important;
    }

    Thanks James. I'll keep working it. It's hard to remove what you can't see though.
