    Hi All,

I have a magazine theme with 2 featured post areas, totaling in 4 posts. I'd like to have the main blog skip these 4 posts only, so they're not repetitive. I know this has to do with the WordPress loop, but I need help. I don't know where to put the php code for the loop. Honestly I don't really know what I'm doing, but knowing where to first put the code would be an extremely helpful start. Thank you!

The Genesis Featured Posts widget includes this option.

    It does? THAT'S AWESOME!

But I don't see where I'd set the loop? Is there a tutorial you could link me to?

    THANKS SO MUCH!!!

The option only works with the Genesis Featured Posts widget and not other loops.

Okay, so I saw the feature, this is great. My problem is this. I have this theme: https://my.studiopress.com/themes/niche/ And how it functions is that there are two Genesis featured content widget areas ABOVE the actual blog area, which is lower. So what happens is that the featured content areas don't repeat themselves, but the blog area below shows the same four posts that are featured above.

What I'd like is the blog area to start on the NEXT four posts, and then go on from there in ascending order (1, 2, 3...)

I don't know how to do this, but it's the only way it makes sense on my theme. Someone's gotta know how to help me!!

You can use the option in the widget however to exclude from another loop outside the widget, you'll need custom code unless you remove that loop and replace it with a widget area using the featured posts widget.

Ok cool, but if I create another loop for the next four posts, once I click the "next" button on my blog page, will it be on post #1 or post #9? Because I want the posts to be sequential with no repeats.

I don't know because i haven't tested it, that is something you will need to do.

If anyone else has advice for me, I'd be open!

I'm wondering if I can control the actual blog feed, and have it start on post #5...
