I am a little confused as to why pagination does not work on the Category Blog page as per StudioPress instructions here,

How to Create Category Blog Page<.a>.

I was able to set this up successfully and noticed my Blog page has pagination here but it does not on my Category Blog Page here.

I am using Brian's Mobile First theme which is obviously not part of StudioPress offerings but still based on the Genesis Framework. I have been reading thousands of "solutions" but none specific to StudioPress's instructions on the how to page.

    What am I missing?

Any help in the right direction will be appreciated. I try not to ask questions because most of the answers are easily figured out but this one does not seem to have a direct answer or a certain search engine is overloaded with results it can't sort the top answer.

    Thanks,

    Mark

    Hi Mark,

pagination will only show when the number of posts is greater than the setting for Posts per Page under Genesis - Theme Settings - Blog Page Template.

Ahh, I had it set for 3 posts under the WordPress > Reading settings. I did not realize Genesis had their own setting as you pointed out. That's interesting and good to know. I'm a little surprised that Genesis is not pulling that from the Reading setting (maybe a bug?). After all, they do pull the tag line from there whenever I update it. So much for making an assumption. đŸ™‚

It all works now, thanks Christoph.

    Hi Mark,

    glad it is working now.

    No, it´s not a bug.
You are using a special page template that creates a blog archive.
It´s from the days when WordPress didn't come with that functionality and it stays in Genesis for backwards compatibility.
That´s why the blog template has its own settings.

Awesome to know. Thanks, Christoph. That tidbit about the templates will bring me one step closer to Genesis-clarity. It never fails to amaze me all the backward/forward compatibility issues/workarounds/solutions these days.
