First, I've searched for tutorials and the forums and I can't find anything even close to what I'm trying to do. I just want to use reading > posts page and add the content on the page below the posts. When I use post page, it only displays posts with pagination, but I can't find where I can setup a template to add content from that page below.

Then I tried looking up how to create a custom page with pagination and add content from the page above or below, but all of the posts are out of date or don't work. Can some one help?

So I know I need to make a custom page template, and I know I can use WP_Query($arg) but I can't find how to recreate what Genesis does by default to output what is done on the posts page.

Genesis 3.0 removed the Blog template. Are you trying to get your blog posts to display on the Blog page?

You can use custom fields like this :

    1. Create a new page.
    2. Create a new custom field and use query_args as the name and cat=179 or any other query string(s) as the value for your custom field.

Thanks, I'm not only trying to display posts, but I want to put page builder content in an area below the posts feed. I would think you would do that with a page template file, but I'm not sure how to get a posts feed that structured like the default?
