I set up a website for a non profit and used Genesis with the Prose child theme. I was thinking of switching themes to give it a new look and bought the Outreach Pro theme. We do not do any blogging, so I set up a static home page. What I have discovered is that being a static homepage I can not use the widgets. Should I switch back to a blog homepage even though there won't be any posts; but, I could use the widgets. However, if I keep a static homepage, is there anyway with coding to enable the widget area? Would Design Palette Pro do this? Is there a template that exists that I could assign to the static homepage that would allow for widgets.

    Thanks for the help

Outreach Pro doesn't execute the default Genesis loop on the home page. This means that blog posts don't display on the home page. If you want to show blog posts on the home page you must use featured widgets.

The Outreach Pro home page will show the default loop UNTIL you populate a eidget, then the default loop goes away.
