No SEO settings in Dashboard

    This came to my attention when I found that my category pages (which are important) are not indexed in Google.
    For example http://www.dublinovernight.com/category/hotels/ has
    <meta name="robots" content="noindex,noodp,noydir" /> preventing it from being indexed.
    But there is no SEO settings tab in the dashboard so I can't change the noindex setting.

    I do not have any other SEO plugin installed so that is not the issue.
    I have tried disabling all plugins but that did not solve it and I also reverted to the Genesis Framework theme but that did not get the SEO tab back either.

    Any ideas?

    Hello Eamon,

    Check your functions.php to see if there's an override or disable of the SEO Meta / Settings in there.

    Thank you Coral Sea IT for the suggestion.
    Unfortunately, I don't see any SEO override/disable in the functions.php
    Any other ideas?

    Have you checked the theme's header.php for hard coded meta tags? Have you tried contacted the theme developer for help?

    Victor,
    Thanks for the suggestion.
    I hadn't checked the header.php but I have done so now and I don't see anything there which would cause the problem.
    I haven't contacted the theme developer because I have used the same theme on a few other sites without problem.
    Also the problem of the missing SEO Settings in the dashboard persists even if I switch back to the basic Genesis Theme.
    I am baffled.

    It was simple if you knew where to look.
    This solution suggested by Support solved it.

    Try going to Users > Your Profile in your dashboard. If you scroll down toward the bottom, there is a checkbox that says "Enable SEO Settings Submenu?" in the User Permissions section - checking that box should enable the SEO settings menu item under Genesis.
