ParticipantWent live yesterday with my new WordPress blog with Prose theme. Prose was supposed to have a mobile theme, which I saw on my test site but now that it's live I don't see on my iPhone. In addition, several of my network friends have mentioned that they see the mobile version on their computers instead of the regular website version. Anyone know why this might be and how to fix it?

ParticipantSilly me. I know better. Sorry about that. By the way, my friends now see the normal version but I have yet to have a mobile version on my iPhone. http://cornerstoneconfessions.com

ParticipantReally? I just check it again. Still shows the full page for me. Hmm... What phone are you using?

MemberYou can just resize your browsers viewport. You don't need a phone.

ParticipantBut that wouldn't change it to mobile view, would it?! Or maybe we are not talking about the same thing. How do YOU resize your browsers viewport?

MemberYes, the responsive design is CSS based on viewport resolution. Drag the browser window, a.k.a viewport, o make it narrower and the design will change at the various break points.

ParticipantOh...well it still doesn't do that on my phone or my husbands or anyone else's I've talked to so how do I resolve that?

MemberUnfortunately there's no way to diagnose something I can't replicate. Just checked on iPad and it's acting as expected.

ParticipantMe too. On iPad it shows the full page.

MemberWhat do you mean by "full page"? In portrait orientation there's no change?

ParticipantThere is now. It's like it just changed. Weird. And my phone has changed too. So strange. I wonder why it took until now to respond. As far as the view though, it looks very choppy and unprofessiona...missing part of my header and the sidebar header below the header. Is that normal on the prose theme?
February 2, 2013 at 10:11 pm #17540SoZo
MemberNot sure what you mean by sidebar header. Do you mean the flowers in the Header Right sidebar? But ya, it doesn't automatically shrink your logo. You can add "background-size: contain;" to the #header rule and that will sort of do it but tends to not look the way you expect. I find the only way to really get it right is to add different header images for each responsive section.
