    Hi,
I am using the magazine pro theme and I just realised there is no H1 header even though the page title is 'blog'. I'm guessing the page attribute is 'blog' is overwritting this somehow. I presume this is a bug on the theme. How can I fix it?

This is by design so it's actually fixed already.

In the actual post the title is H1, as it is the highest component on the page, hierarchically speaking.

On your archive page it is secondary (and therefore H2) to the title of that page, which is the archive title. delivered as H1.

On your home page, in Magazine Pro, this is H2. On other themes it may be reduced further depending on the hierarchy of page elements. See the Themedy demo for "Stage 2" where a home page blog post title as H3 because it is subordinate to the site title (H1) and subsection of "Blog Posts" (H2).

See Matt Cutts' blog page for an example of this in action in the wild. Matt knows SEO and uses Genesis.

I'm also using the Magazine Pro theme and found that it has no H1 tag on the home page. Is there a way to get this embedded in the home page so that the search engines see it?

One option would be to repeat the meta title as an H1. Another would be to have the H2 title in the top featured article be an H1 even if it was the same font and size as the H2 for a consistent appearance. Maybe just a script could it? Thanks.

After posting the above, I realized that one solution is to add a text widget with an H1 tag to the Home-Top section. This must be placed above the Genesis Featured Post, which is the first widget recommended by the Magazine Pro installation guide. It accomplished my objective, but it would be nice to have another way to get an H1 tag on the page and still maintain the layout shown in the default Magazine Pro demo page.
