Has anyone already solved how to make the 1 pixel border that separates the content area from the sidebar extend all the way to the top of the footer? Currently (the News child theme default), the 1 px solid gray border extends from the bottom of the menu to the bottom of the content area (where it connects with a similar horizontal border at the bottom of the content area), but it doesn't go all the way to the top of the footer, which it seems like it should do by default. Here's the page I'm seeing this artifact on: http://whittierlegal.com/coaching-academy/

The border between the content and sidebar extends as far as the longest element on the page. Currently it is the right border of the content and because the content is shorter it does not extend all the way down. It does extend all the way down on this page http://whittierlegal.com/communications/ because the content is longer than the sidebar. You could write a specific css rule for this page, remove the border-right from the content and put a border-left on the sidebar.

Thanks; I was looking for a more general solution, rather than a page-specific fix, since some pages the content area is longer (taller or higher) than the sidebar, and vice-versa... What I want is just a single 1px border line that goes from the menu all the way to the footer. I've seen this quirk on several Genesis themes; not a huge problem, but it does seem like it would be a cleaner design if the theme did this by default.
