MemberI have a question on how to recreate the News Pro demo site exactly. I read and implemented the theme setup guide but it did not address this question.
The image url is the image from the News Pro Theme setup guide which is slightly different from the demo site.
1. in the demo theme (http://demo.studiopress.com/news), to the right of the Header logo, there is a banner ad marked 728x90 AD which appears to be a rotating ad banner your would add into a widget. How do I add that widget area so it appears in the proper place as it does in the demo?

Member1. Go to widgets area in your WordPress Dashboard.
2. Remove 'custom menu' from 'header right' widget section.
3. Drag 'text' widget to 'header right' section.
4. Add your ad code or specific image code like<a href="http://www.google.com"><img src="image url"></a>
Above change url and add image source url as per requirement.

MemberThanks for the reply. the issue is that I want to keep the custom menu on the top. I am trying to emulate the demo which incented us to select this theme. http://demo.studiopress.com/news/
main menu
logo banner ad
submenu (which are really just links to our main pages)February 28, 2014 at 8:48 am #92820Davinder Singh Kainth
MemberI believe you are talking about second menu with items "ENTERTAINMENT , MUSIC" and so on. This is secondary navigation bar, go to menu area create new menu and assign it to secondary navigation area - it should appear automatically. And using method shared in previous reply, you can add banner ad.
On your website http://173.254.77.96/~mcfintlt/ primary and secondary menus are visible, you just need to header image. Still issue, please reply back.

MemberThe header image in the theme is 260x90 (for responsive viewing).
I could change the functions.php and css and make the image larger but that isn't my intent with this theme.
The banner ad in the theme demo is marked as 728x90 but there is no banner widget available.
I need the primary and secondary menu in place.I'll try to be a little clearer; an image might help.

MemberThat banner area is defined by "Header Right" widget area. Just add banner code in a text widget and place it in "header right" section - see screenshot.
