    Hi all,

I'm trying to insert a 'latest posts' type slider on mikemetcalfe.co (theme eleven40) homepage.

Ideally, I'd like it where the first post currently is showing (the article entitled 'hotel internet').

And for other posts to then appear below this slider box, so user can scroll down to view them.

I've tried putting a genesis featured posts slider into the home featured, then home slider widget section, but nothing changes.

Can anyone share how to do that? Thanks!

Did you configure the slider plugin settings so they pull the featured image from your posts into the slider? Should work.

Did you set features images on your posts?

    Thanks Brad.

Experimented and yes all the above worked - if I wanted it kept with the welcome text. But need it below the parallel welcome text bars

it seems I need to create a new widget section i.e rectangle section below the welcome text widget and left of the sidebar about me.

Found some quite technical documentation on that. Are there any simple ways to do that? If that's required... ??

    Thanks again.

OK. Let me know the hook location and i'll provide the code for a custom widget if thats what you want.

    Thks Brad.

I think it's the genesis_before_loop hook.  I'm trying to place the widget (to insert the slider) in this section:

    - top is under current welcome text widget

    - bottom margin aligns with the bottom line of the twitter follow

    - side of widget section is the current layout line 3/4 towards page right

    Cheers!

    Thank you Brad.

Seems to have worked somewhat. Is there anyway to keep the primary sidebar section as it was?

    Cheers

    Thks Brad.

Tried changing the hook (ie. to genesis_loop OR loop_start). Genesis Before Loop or Loop appears to be the correct position.

But when slider is in correct position, the post title (wanting it to be under slider) now appears far right in the primary sidebar.

And the sidebar then ends (i.e. other posts display full width titles and content).

Trying to keep existing primary sidebar (right), show a featured post slider first, then show featured posts via scrolling as they appear.

What am I missing here or need to tweak to solve this?

    Cheers
