    You can create a widget area there or simply hook in your ad using the genesis_before_header hook.

    function add_text_genesis() {
        echo '<div class="add-text">Add Banner HTML Here</div>';
    };
    add_action('genesis_before_header', 'add_text_genesis');

    Please copy the code from the view raw link and paste it at the end of your child themes functions.php file using a text editor like Notepad++
