I’m using the Essence Pro child theme and I enabled the before_header area and placed my logo there instead of the header area. It looks great on desktop browsers, but it’s not displaying correctly on mobile browsers and the background is dark, not white.

You have to add the appropriate CSS to the theme's media queries. You'll find the media queries toward the bottom of style.css.

Well, this is the issue I seem to be having.

I'm trying to figure out where the hell I am supposed to put the CSS code because there are so many @media rules.

Can I get some help here?

I decided to use the .title-area instead to place my logo because I think it actually looks better and it renders just fine in responsive mode. But, I am trying to figure out now how to change the color of the "Menu" icon from white to black and I cannot see any CSS class, element anywhere for this object.

Any ideas on how I may be able to do that?

    Thanks

Victor has a great post on using your browsers inspector here. That will help you to find the correct selector/declaration to target.

This is for the responsive menu icon though.

    Anyway to inspect that?

I believe it’s the toggle menu, but when changing the CSS code to black, it still wasn’t changing.

    Disregard, I resolved it.

Thanks, I guess, for nothing I suppose.

Looks I will be using StackOverflow more often than here.

Victor seems to be the only one answering any questions anyway.
