The main background image appears in Widget Home 1 - I want to post a separate background image in Widget Home 3.

2. Look for background image option to assign different image to widget 1, 3 and 5 areas.

Make sure you are logged in as admin using latest version of Genesis. If still issue, let me know which browser and computer os version you are using.

Need Genesis help? Davinder @ iGuiding Media | My Blog | Fresh Genesis ThemesI'm the Admin and I've tried both Firefox and Safari on MacOS. Still can't see the 1, 3, 5 background image option. WP 4.0, Genesis 2.1.2 and Centric 1.1. I think they're all current.
Are you using Parallax or Centric theme?
Only parallax theme has 1,3, 5 background image options. Centric theme only has one background image option which can be accessed using this procedure - http://my.studiopress.com/setup/centric-pro-theme/#step-8
To change background image of other sections in Centric theme, you can need to manually edit background code for respective section in style.css file.
