    I've tried various different hooks I've read on various blogs trying to Google my answer, but can't seem to get this to work the way I want.

    I'm using mobile first theme by Brian Gardner.

    The look I'm trying to achieve is a standard mobile menu Icon button below header, then in desktop a right vertical sidebar nav menu.

    I can cheat and use a sidebar menu widget, however in mobile that places the menu below content. Which might be OK.... I don't know. Probably not ideal in a perfect world, but will be my last resort.

    Anyone know how I can achieve this?

    Hi,

    you can relocate the primary navigation to any hook you want.
    If you really want the navigation to show up in the sidebar you can use the following code:

    //* Reposition the primary navigation menu
    remove_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_nav' );
    add_action( 'genesis_before_sidebar_widget_area', 'genesis_do_nav' );

    This will result in the mobile menu to be shown underneath the content.
    An explanation for it is this:

    The alternative Ozzy is mentioning would look like this:

    //* Reposition the primary navigation menu
    remove_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_nav' );
    add_action( 'genesis_header_right', 'genesis_do_nav' );

    You might want to look into sidr http://www.berriart.com/sidr/ to achieve the look you want.

    hmmm none of those work (with sidr as an exception of course). I thought mobile-first was a relatively new theme. But perhaps it's based off an older default theme or things have been changed unnecessarily.

    Anyone else know anything about the mobile-first theme by Brian?

    PS. I realise the url doesn't work and goes to a wix website.

    Will need to edit your hosts file if viewing is required. (C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts - or Google Mac/Linux hosts file)
