We moved a site designed with Prose last night to Hostmonster which I guess doesn't support Jetpack because their PHP is 5.2 (from what my google search shows). Which is where I put the CSS for the site design.

I now go into "Custom Code" in the Dashboard under Genesis>Custom Code and paste my CSS there. And nothing is taking.

    Why?

You should find out if they have a way (typically using .htaccess) to run your site using PHP 5.3 or 5.4

PHP 5.2 was end-of-life in January 2011, and could pose a security risk since it's not being maintained anymore. That and there are a lot of plugins out there that have dropped support for PHP 5.2 over the past year or so.
