    I want to put a menu in the right side of the header in the Prose theme. I want it to look and function like a primary or secondary nav menu. Putting a custom menu widget in the Header Right widget area doesn’t work.

    1.) Would putting code A or B (below) in Genesis/Custom Code/Functions do it?

    2.) Would testing it cause any problems?

    (A)

    //* Reposition the primary navigation menu
    remove_action( 'genesis_before_header', 'genesis_do_nav' );
    add_action( 'genesis_right_header', 'genesis_do_nav' );

    (B)

    //* Reposition the primary navigation menu
    remove_action( 'genesis_before_header', 'genesis_do_nav' );
    add_action( 'genesis_header_widget_area', 'genesis_do_nav' );

    Your help will be very appreciated.

    I was able to do this on a Prose site by moving the secondary nav into the header area (the primary needed to stay where it was), but to be honest, it was SO much more trouble than it was worth. Took about 2 hours of CSS changes to make it look right and position itself correctly.

    That said, the hook you want is genesis_header - shouldn't hurt anything to try it out, though you'll want to be sure you have FTP or File Manager access in case anything breaks.

    According to SP Support, the primary and secondary menus cannot be relocated to the header right widget area. You can put the custom menu widget in header right and then restyle it using css, however.

    All considered, it doesn't seem worth the effort to me. At least at my current css skill level. 🙂
