I’m thinking of setting up a new site using Magazine Pro. I would want to modify the color of the menu nav and the “feature” or “category” blocks. The demo is black background with white text. I would want a lighter color with a darker text.

Is this a simple customization in “appearance” or would it require some custom CSS?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You'll need to learn the basics of CSS if you want customize the appearance of your Genesis powered website.

Inspect the element, find the CSS rule and line number, modify the value for the CSS properties you want to change in your child themes style.css file & clear caching. https://www.studiopress.com/using-firebug/
