Modern Portfolio – Center Footer Copyright

How can I center the Copyright in the footer? http://mbbdev.com/mhtest02/
It uses the same css as the Portfolio widget:

.footer-widgets-1, .footer-widgets-2, .sidebar-content #sidebar, #blog .featuredpost .post:nth-of-type(3n+1), #blog .featuredpost .post:nth-of-type(3n+2), #content, #content-sidebar-wrap, #footer .gototop, #portfolio .featuredpost .post:nth-of-type(3n+1), #portfolio .featuredpost .post:nth-of-type(3n+2), #sidebar-alt, #title-area {
float: left;
}
.footer-widgets-3, .sidebar, .sidebar-content #content, #blog .featuredpost .post:nth-of-type(3n), #footer .creds, #header .widget-area, #portfolio .featuredpost .post:nth-of-type(3n) {
float: right;
}

Remove this:

.footer-widgets-3, 
.sidebar,
.sidebar-content #content, #blog .featuredpost .post:nth-of-type(3n), 
#footer .creds, 
#header .widget-area, 
#portfolio .featuredpost .post:nth-of-type(3n) {
float: right;
}

and replace it with this:

.footer-widgets-3, 
.sidebar,
.sidebar-content #content, #blog .featuredpost .post:nth-of-type(3n), 
#header .widget-area, 
#portfolio .featuredpost .post:nth-of-type(3n) {
float: right;
}

Then find this:

#footer .creds {
text-align: right;
}

and change it to this:

#footer .creds {
text-align: center;
}

That should center your footer credits while leaving everything else floating right. Let me know if that doesn't work!

If I make the changes in the child Themes Modern Portfolio, the change does not take effect.

If I add the new code to JetPack Appearance --> edit css, the change works.

Very odd.
