    I'm wanting to do some customizations to the home page of minimum-pro (front-page.php). My goal simply is to create some content areas immediately below the four home featured widgets. I can actually use the widgets themselves and change their layout in CSS to accomplish this but that approach limits future expansion of the homepage and I may want to use them later.

    So I suppose I need to register new content sections on the front-page. Can someone point me to a tutorial on this?

    Its different for every theme however you can simply duplicate existing front page widgets in your front_page file and duplicate the PHP code to register the widgets in your functions file. Make sure you change the names of the widget i.d's to something unique.

    You can the change the classes or use the same classes as the original widgets.

    Thanks for the pointer brad. Your examples did it. Between your help and the article by Sridhar Kataham "How to replace background image in Minimum Pro with responsive slider" I was able to fully customize my minimum-pro homepage. Very cool.

    OK, so please help me turn up the volume. I have successfully added the new content sections to home-featured in the minimum-pro theme. They all live under the same section and in the front-page.php the reside under this function:

    function minimum_home_featured

    and the section is closed by this:

    genesis_structural_wrap( 'home-featured', 'close' );

    For purposes of styling and ease of use vis-a-vis my style.css, I'd live all of these to live in their own DIV. Problem is, I can't figure out if "home_featured" is a name given by the designer or if it designates a structural wrap (???) within Genesis. Can you help me group these puppies in their own section?

    Got it. With the help of Nick... thanks Nick... I learned the fundamentals of how to add the section. All working now.
