I am using the new minimum 2.0 theme, and would like to utilize the portfolio custom post types. The problem is that I already created a 'portfolio' page in my previous theme (which created the /portfolio slug). I've changed the old page's slug to 'portfolio-old' but any attempt to have wordpress create the 'portfolio' slug for my custom post types isn't working (that I know of).

    My website is: http://qoalagroup.com

Thanks in advance for your help!

Did you save change at permalink?

    Thanks

I got it to work - thanks to Nick at the Helpdesk. I tried saving the change after the permalink change, but that didn't work. I had to:

    Delete the old portfolio page
Delete the old portfolio page from the trash
Change permalink settings to something other than "post-name"
    Save those changes.
Create a new Portfolio Custom Post Type
Change Permalink settings back to 'post-name' (if that's what you want)
Wait a few minutes for the database to update.
    Done!

Hopefully that helps someone. It was quite the process!
