Greetings from Australia. I hope you are all looking forward to a happy Thanksgiving!!
When you've finished off the 'goodies' and inclined to work again - I have a problem with the post summary in the Metro theme. ( http://www.quitsmokingadviser.com )
I was expecting the summary link to show as [More....]. It shows as [...] - no problem if the link worked, but it doesn't. There is no internal link URL. I have tried the snippets at http://my.studiopress.com/snippets/post-excerpts/#content-more-link. But none of these seem to work either. Is there a particular position in the Theme Functions where this should go? Are there any other settings I should be aware of? I've tried so many variations in Genesis settings and using the snippets, all without success.
I'm sure it's me that's the problem. but I can't for the life of me work out how to fix it. As a newbie to WordPress I'll be most grateful for any and all assistance.
Thank you,

Need Genesis help? Davinder @ iGuiding Media | My Blog | Fresh Genesis ThemesNovember 27, 2014 at 2:53 am #132956prowebcommerceMemberHello Davinder,
Thanks for the reply. Yes I have this set correctly. What I am confused about is that the archived posts are showing the [Read more...] link correctly. It's the home page that is not and I cannot see any way to correct this.
November 27, 2014 at 4:51 am #132962prowebcommerceMemberI'm sorry, just realised I did not read your advice correctly. I mistakenly thought you were referring to the Genesis theme settings. Now I see it's widgets you refer to - but, I don't understand where this widget should be placed. The layout I am using is content and sidebar. Where should I position the Categories widget? Sorry if this seems rather silly question, I am still coming to grips with the nuances of WP.
November 27, 2014 at 12:59 pm #133031jengabbardMemberYou're using the featured posts widget on your homepage, correct?
You should have a home Top/ Middle Left / Middle Right/ and Bottom portion.
If you want to show the latest 4 blog posts as you have Just place the featured post widget in either the top or bottom with the settings Davinder showed above.
Puppy Leaks I love the Metro theme
November 27, 2014 at 2:03 pm #133037prowebcommerceMemberYes, that worked. I had placed the Featured Post widget in Top/Bottom with
Content Type incorrectly set to Excerpt - my mistake. Have now reset this as
illustrated by Davinder. Thank you both very much for your assistance.
