MemberHi
I wish to show the post excerpt text to the right of the featured image in the 'home middle left' widget area.
What I mean is the text for the post in 'home middle left' would display in the 'home middle right area'.
Is this possible?
Thanks for your timeAugust 29, 2013 at 3:35 pm #59599Susan
ModeratorTo clarify - you want to display the same post in both areas, but the left widget would just have the image, and the right would have just the text for the same post?
If so, add a featured post widget to both areas; in one side, check the box to show the featured image, but to display content: none; in the other area, do not check the box to show the image, and select how much text to display under content.

MemberHi Susan,
Thanks for your reply. Your solution is good, but not quite what I am after.
The problem with that you see is that the images and excerpt text no longer align. The following site shows the layout I am trying to achieve. Is this possible with Metro, or have I bought the wrong theme 😉
Thanks for your time

ModeratorOh, yes, you can do that. You would just need to change the width of the Home Middle Left area in your stylesheet, add the featured widget, align the image to the left.

MemberHi Susan,
Maybe I'm doing something wrong but when I do this the text of the post is always beneath the featured image. I need it to be to the right of the image?

ModeratorAre you using the Featured Post widget? If so, when you check the box for featured image, under "Image Alignment" select "left" - that way, the text will be to the right of the image (assuming that you have increased the width of the widget area.

MemberI'm probably pushing my luck asking more here but here goes!
How much should I increase it by (it measures in percentage and is currently 40%)
And will it effect the responsiveness of the site, ie. will it push the design alignment out of wack? Thanks Again

ModeratorTake a look at the percentage in the Home Top area - that's a full content width widget area, so something similar to that should work.
Also, since there is a full widget widget area above it, I would expect that it shouldn't affect the responsiveness of the theme; in essence, you're just creating another full width widget area, correct?

MemberI can't actually see the percentage number in the home-top area, it isn't listed in my stylesheet?
