    Hey everyone,

I have a few questions regarding membership/log in for our website that I hope someone can shed some light on.

What we're looking to do is to create a join us/log in section where our visitors can sign up, create a small profile with their name, email etc and comment on articles and even chat on in a small coffee room style forum.

The question's I have are: What plug in would you recommend both paid and free?, if a member was to log in and then took part in a competition how would we be notified on who it was? and the last question is Do we need to be on a dedicated hosting package for this or can this be done without?

If anyone could point us in the right direction that would be great.

There's many plugins. No dedicated hosting needed.
