    I want to set max site width at 1280 or at least have just my pages at max site width 1280. I'm very new to Genesis. Are you supposed to just edit the Child Theme's CSS directly through FTP? What happens with updates? I'm finding the tutorials unhelpful. Hopefully you all can help me!

    FYI I'm just testing Genesis in preparation for a full launch and my website still shows up in the non-Genesis version.

    Wow I didn't expect such a fast response. I'm using the News Pro theme. Also this will only be temporary to make the switch over happen quick.

    The mas width of News pro theme is already less then 1280px.

    .site-container {
    background-color: #fff;
    border: 1px solid #e3e3e3;
    margin: 60px auto;
    max-width: 1140px;
    }

    OK I see that in the css. Is there a way to increase that to 1280 for the pages or the site as a whole? Thanks for your help.

    This seemed to increase the header site width 1280 but my pages are not displaying at 1280. Is there something that is making pages display at a different width?
