I'm using eleven40 Pro. I have a number of galleries, which invite users to click on a More button to find out more. It takes them to the media page where the image appears as little more than a thumbnail.

I want it to be full size (preferably by default). Please can someone tell me how to achieve this.

You can create a custom attachment.php or image.php template file

And you can use the class for all images displayed using that template.

Also, if you look in the body classes of the source code, you'll find these classes

    attachment single single-attachment postid-563 attachmentid-563 attachment-png

But i think it might be better to use PHP code to add a custom image size specifically for the attachment page when uploading the original.

Thanks for your very quick reply. I'm afraid I'm a novice here so please bear with me. I've followed the instructions for creating a custom attachment .php or image.php template file and uploaded it to the root directory of my child theme folder. But now the images have disappeared!

The originals have a maximum dimension of 750 pixels (height or width, whichever is the greater). How can I modify the code you've given me to reinstate the images at that size?

    Thats not the only option.

You can modify the size using CSS, PHP or a plugin.

For non coders, i suggest a plugin which you'll find in the WordPress plugin directory..

Or CSS which isn't ideal for changing sizes as the quality may not be the best.

Thanks again. I'm sure you're right and that for me a plug-in is likely the best solution. I've searched the WordPress plugin directory but I haven't found anything that seems to do what I want – resize the images only on media/attachment pages as opposed to resizing default image sizes. Can you suggest a plug-in that would do the job for me or at least the search term I should be using (I've been trying wordpress plugin resize image on attachment page)?
